Named after a local bird, Bananaquit is set into a lush hillside with
unparallel views of the Gros and Petit Pitons, St. Lucian landmarks. The house looks out to the Caribbean sea and
is surrounded by a colorful terraced garden planted with bougainvillea, palms, mangoes, lilies and other
exotic flora. Bananaquit offers a tranquil and relaxing experience, luxuriating in the warm Caribbean
sunshine, gently fanned by the cooling sea breezes.
The house is accessed by a private lane via steps leading down to the terracotta tiled terrace
surrounding the pool. On the same level, like an extension of the terrace, the huge dining room and
living room are open to the stunning view. Sliding wooden louvered doors permit you to enclose the
space, if desired. The fully equipped kitchen is located at the back of the house.
The upper level of the house has a generous twin room overlooking the colorful gardens with
original greenheart floors and antique French bamboo style furniture. There are two double beds with
mosquito nets in this bedroom. The ensuite bathroom has a tub and shower. A loft bedroom which
overlooks the living/dining area has a double and a twin bed.
Downstairs there are three more bedrooms equipped with fans, mosquito nets and greenheart
wooden
floors. One is has an ensuite bathroom and the other two share a bathroom. One of these bedrooms is
designed for children and has a bunk bed and two single beds.
On the lowest level of the house there is an air-conditioned nanny bedroom with a single bed and ensuite
shower room. This
room can be used with prior arrangement for an additional fee.
The owners of Bananaquit House have a boat (twin engine Aquasport) which can be made available to
guests by prior arrangement for a fee. The boat is ideal for water-skiing, deep sea fishing and day
trips along the coast. Boat can be brought to Soufriere or Anse Chastanet jetty.
Nightly Rates
Rates quoted in US dollars and subject to change. Maximum occupancy is
two persons per bedroom unless by specific agreement with island management prior to arrival.
